Located in a quaint adobe building right off of Tucson’s 4th Avenue is WGH Woodworking which has been providing Tucsonans with beautifully crafted custom furniture since its foundation in 1981.

Wayne Hausknecht, the master artisan behind the work, specializes in the designing, building and installing of classic and modern doors. Each of these pieces is handcrafted in-house out of a variety of premium woods including mesquite native to the area.

The website is packed with wonderful pictures of the one-of-a-kind doors that Hausknecht has designed in the past. Each piece is unique and there is no pricelist as every project requires personal attention to detail. Hausknect will work alongside you, even using your photographs and sketches, in order to make sure that the finished product is exactly what you envisioned.

He usually asked that each potential client give him a call to discuss details and what is expected in order to schedule a time when the bid can be discussed. The prices at WGH Working range anywhere from $850 for a simpler design, all the way up to $20,000 for a complex and elegant door so there’s an option for any budget.

And honestly, who wouldn’t rather have a beautiful, unique door welcoming guests into their home instead of the plain, generic entryways we see on every street?

If the idea of custom doorways has ever entered your mind, give Hausknecht a call and see what he can design for you. I can promise that you’ll love his designs and his finished products will not disappoint!
