Located on the corner of 4th Avenue and University Blvd, Epic Café is a cozy, offbeat coffee shop, where a lot of locals and college students like to hang out. Epic Café services a variety of food such as sandwiches, bagels, desserts, baked goods and vegan/vegetarian options.
Epic Café is easy to find, you’ll notice people sitting on the outside tables chatting with friends. Inside is filled with a warm aroma of coffee and pastries. The walls are painted bright red and have colorful local artwork displayed for sale.
You’ll probably hear the loud espresso machines spewing out coffee and baristas yelling out peoples drinks. There are tables and couches for people to sit and they provide free wifi for anyone who wants to bring their laptops and do some work.
They make homemade soups, and baked goods daily and often have a diverse selection of vegan and vegetarian options.
The crowd at Epic Café is very diverse. You’ll see a mixture of people from business folks to hippies to college students. The baristas are really friendly and everyone seems relaxed when you walk in. Their hours are 6a.m. to 12 a.m. daily (and sometimes they are even open all night long), so you can even stop by and grab a late night snack or that coffee to push you through the day.
Prices on the goodies are under $10 so it’s pretty affordable. Street parking can be a little tough, so you may find yourself in for a little stroll to get to Epic. Easy access is also provided by the Modern Streetcar. Once you’re there grab a cup of coffee and something to eat and enjoy the diverse atmosphere at Epic Café.
