501 N. 4th Avenue, Tucson, AZ 85705
We all know about the guilty pleasures that Dairy Queen has to offer: ice cream, sundaes, blizzards, etc. All the comfort foods we need to survive!
This particular Dairy Queen is located right on the corner of 4th Avenue and 6th Street. You really can’t miss it. It’s always packed with students, families and treat seekers.
They do have a small drive thru, which is nice if you happen to be in that area and want a quick sugar fix without leaving your car. They have a wide variety of ice creams and different ways of making them.
You have the classics: shakes, Blizzards filled with Oreo cookies, chocolate chip cookie dough or M&M’s, banana splits, chocolate sundaes and their famous brownie earthquake (which is a giant brownie covered in vanilla ice cream and hot fudge). My personal favorite is a ‘twist’ cone, which is chocolate and vanilla soft serve.
Dairy Queen is open Monday-Saturday from 10am to 10pm and Sunday from 11am to 10pm. So you can even go in for a sweet treat after dinner at one of 4th Avenue’s great restaurants.
If you’re venturing out for something to bring back for the whole family, you can purchase Dilly Bars (chocolate dipped ice cream) by the box! Those usually run $6-$7 and it’s something that you can store in your freezer for later.
One thing to note is that this Dairy Queen only offers dessert items, unlike some Dairy Queens which offer full menus with hamburgers and fries and such. So why not grab a tasty meal at one of the many great restaurants on 4th, and then cool off on the warm Tucson night with a cool treat from DQ.
